Editorial policy and sources

Every statistic on this site is dated and sourced to GOV.UK, the Valuation Office, or gov.wales. We don't use figures from private compilations we can't trace back to an official release, and we don't republish the Valuation Office's bulk rating list — its terms restrict that to non-domestic-rating purposes and we only use the official, openly licensed statistics instead.

What we won't do

• Mix the total rateable value change for a category with the median property change — they're different figures and we say which one we're citing every time.
• State UKHospitality's November 2025 pre-relief estimates as if they were a current forecast.
• Publish council-by-council pub or hotel figures we can't source to an official, openly licensed release.
• Claim to be RICS-regulated, independent, or impartial. We're a publisher with a paid referral relationship, disclosed on every relevant page.
